My work is about the complex feeling I achieved after visiting Fort Jefferson. Fort Jefferson is the largest brick masonry structure in the Americas, with a unique twisted fate. As its original design, it should be a fort as its name. Unfortunately, it's never finished nor fully armed because of the weapon development. It was used as a prison during the civil war and finally abandoned by the army in 1874. However, it becomes heaven for abundant sea life, tropical bird breeding grounds, and colorful coral reefs. I was walking around in this super lonely building with those extremely stunning views; I couldn't stop thinking about people who have lived here and the stories that happened here.
